In the summer of 2011, we stayed for one week in a restored medieval castle near Eisleben, Germany, learning and performing a variety of American sacred and secular vocal music together with German students. In the summer of 2012, we will have the German students join us back in the Chicago area for a great week of learning and performing sacred and secular vocal music from all around the world, drawing upon the musical resources of our truly global city!

All young people entering grade 9 though graduating grade 12, whether you are Lutheran or not, are invited to participate. You can even earn documented volunteer service credits for doing so, as well as becoming eligible for a college scholarship! We believe this is what the Spirit had in store for the Lutheran Youth Choir when a German pastor exclaimed on our 2008 Tour to Lutherland, “This choir will be a catalyst for something truly special!” We invite you to read all about our festival on this website, and then to prayerfully consider whether you or a young person you know is being called to join us!
